Wow! This is graphic!

We were playing Super Nintendo one day at a neighbor’s house, and this kid (TY) that nobody really hung out with much brought over a game called Baseball Simulator 1000. It was a standard baseball game where the gimmick was that there were special weapon pitches and batters. Ohh yeah, and the players were robots. So it was a pretty wacky game. It had a decent look, and was actually a pretty decently balanced video game considering that it was a sports game. The sound kind of stunk, but the graphics were cool. Well, we all got tired of playing the game, so we started hitting the speed bag that they had in the basement. Well TY decided that heRead More

The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 4 “United Parcel Setback”

Rather than patronize Radio Shack and spend $12.99 on the cable, I found it for $3.62 on amazon with free two day shipping. Why not? I placed the order and it shipped almost immediately. Here’s a screen capture of the tracking information: Yep. That’s right. The package sat in a UPS facility for exactly one week before moving. Before you jump to any conclusions, the boxRead More

Taken

Ever since moving to Blu Ray technology, I have been watching a lot more action movies. In fact, my overall appreciation for action movies has definitely increased. So much so, in fact, that my Blu Ray library has a large representation of action movies from the 1980s. Just because the explosions are great! So this movie, Taken (2008), starring Liam Neeson… It is absolutely incredible. The movie starts with some fairly cliché character development and exposition, just to catch you up on the world that Liam Neeson’s character is living in. Once that stuff is out of the way, it’s non-stop action and violence and raw emotion. I am fairly critical of new releases. In fact, with the exception ofRead More

The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 3 “United Parcel Surprise”

Read Part 1 here: The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 1 “United Parcel Stealers” Read Part 2 here: The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 2 “United Parcel Safari” This would be a good time to explain my living situation. I live in an apartment complex with many units. Per building, there are 12 apartments and a security door. An important thing to note is that amazon ships packages via UPS with no signature required. Taken from the amazon prime FAQ: “Expedited shipping, including FREE Two-Day Shipping, may require signatures for orders over $700,” the assumption (which I confirmed by speaking directly to amazon.com shipping personnel) being that under $700, no signature is required. 97% ofRead More

The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 2 “United Parcel Safari”

Read Part 1 here: The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 1 “United Parcel Stealers” I ordered a television/DVD combo from amazon back in March (well because I needed it, the price was right, and I get free two day shipping on all amazon orders, duh). I placed the order on March 23. It immediately (like within 30 minutes) shipped from amazon, and I even was given an estimated delivery date of March 24. I was totally excited; here comes a great TV/DVD combo (at a great price) in just one day. UPS, however, decided to take my package on a safari through the Eastern United States. Here’s a screen capture of the full tracking history (read from bottomRead More

The story of Amazon Prime and UPS – Part 1 “United Parcel Stealers”

Amazon Prime is an excellent service that I highly recommend to anybody who purchases as much media as I do. For $79 per year, you get unlimited free two day shipping on any item fulfilled by amazon.com. This is pretty awesome, considering that, for new release and library DVDs, amazon.com usually has the lowest price and, for video games, with most purchases, there is a $10 (and sometimes $20) off a future video game purchase incentive which stacks if you buy multiple games. Another incentive for new releases (DVDs and video games) is free release day shipping, which means you get things the day they launch. You can upgrade to overnight shipping for $3.99 per purchase, but most of myRead More

UPS Week

Starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting my stories of trials and tribulations of UPS delivery. It’s something to look forward to, and something none of you are going to want to miss.

Red Front Pizza

There’s this dive bar not even 5 minutes from my apartment that makes an incredible pizza with cheese on bottom. Here’s the way I like to order it: 10 cut COB with extra meatball.
