Would derryX do Disney again?

In a word: yes!

Walt Disney

This trip, the one thing that was probably most worth while was the Deluxe Dining Plan. It pretty much guarantees that you’re going to be full constantly. You get three meal credits and two snack credits per day. With lunch and dinner, you get an appetizer, entree, beverage, and dessert. Or, you can save up meal credits to visit a dining establishment worth two credits. On most days, this is what we did, and we barely even used our snack credits (it worked out well to load up on snacks for the plane ride home, though). The other advantage to this is that everything is linked to your room card, so you theoretically don’t need to bring cash or credit cards around. It would suck if you lost your room card, but I’m sure they’d work with you if you report it missing.

derryX and Captain EO

As far as the attractions, EPCOT was definitely my favorite. The two things that stand out months later were Captain EO and Coca Cola’s Club Cool, but I think we could have spent at least two days within EPCOT doing lots of stuff. For me, we spent just enough time at the other parks, and that was about half a day. I liked Hollywood Studios a bit more than the other parks, but, even that got a little redundant at times.

As far as where to eat, I thought my entree at the Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios was pretty awesome. Dining at Rose and Crown was probably the biggest surprise, as the place was totally low key, and the food was outstanding. Monsieur Paul was very good, but felt a little dated. I still want to eat at Be Our Guest. Maybe those goofy dudes will give us a reservation next time.

We stayed at Coronado Springs. I don’t really have much of a frame of reference as far as value compared to other resorts, but I thought our room was a good value. If you do stay there, skip breakfast at Pepper Market; it sucks.

That’s really all I have to say about Disney at this juncture.
