Happy Halloween 2014!!!
I’d like to take a moment to thank all of the readers of derryX.com and all of my friends on social media for humoring me with my Halloween antics. I had a lot of fun putting together all of the little nuances that went into my social media “transformation” into Guy Fieri for the duration of the day.
My video trip through Umami-ville into Flavor Town via Donkey sauce was well received.
My walk through making Donkey Sauce and putting it together in a slider was one of the more quickly viewed posts that wasn’t a derryX Dines post.
The shenanigans also took place on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and even at work.
I have a couple more stories from the day.
I decorated my cubicle with the label that I made for my Donkey Sauce jar. Everyone at work loved it. Nobody wanted to try the Donkey Sauce, but they don’t know what they were missing.
So a few co-workers and I went for lunch at Jimmy John’s. I brought the Donkey Sauce, and it was a pretty awesome compliment to the beach club. The staff there got so much of a kick out all of it that they gave me 4 Free Sub cards (which I, of course, shared with my co-workers).
We made an afternoon trip to our local Starbucks for the special $3 Franken Frappuccino (green tea Frappuccino with white mocha sauce, peppermint syrup, java chips, whipped cream, and a mocha drizzle). Needless to say, it was as terrible as it sounded, but at least I can now check that off from the “Unnecessary” column of my Bucket List.
So, yeah. I had a fun day.
Again, it is great to have followers at this space and on all of the other social media networks. I think we have a fun space here. When we have to talk business, we do. When we want to have fun, we do. There’s stuff out there that’s all pissing and moaning and distracting people from trying to enjoy their own lives, and it bugs me that there are people out there that have tried to stop our fun.
But whatever.
Thanks again to everyone who enjoyed the antics. I want to send a special shout out to my buddies John Jordan and MetalFrog who took the ridiculous vision that I had and put in a bunch of work to turn it into some awesome stuff. John shot and edited the video, and MetalFrog helped out with a lot of the graphics, like this one.
THEY ROCK!!!
And I hope your Halloween was as great as mine!!
