What I tried this trip:
-Sausage, Lettuce, Tomato (Italian sausage, lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo, Perreca’s toasted bread, side salad)
-Wild Mushrooms Marsala (with Perreca’s Bread for dunking!)
-Tomato Pie Baked in a 106 year old coal oven
For this Upstate NY food review, we head to LITTLE ITALY in Schenectady to check out More Perrecas! It’s the restarant attached to Perrecas Bakery at 31 N Jay St run by Maria Perreca Papa (aka Maria Papa). The bakery opened in 1914 and has had the same coal-fired brick oven since then! Next time, I’ll try the tomato pie panini or eggs in purgatory.
