Pick 5 – Greatest Candy or Candy Bars

Here’s my ranking of greatest candy or candy bars of all time, a five way tie for first

  • Snickers – Hands down, the best candy bar of all time. Chocolate, peanuts, nougat, caramel. What more could you ever want?
  • Milky Way Dark – I think regular Milky Way bars are kind of pointless, especially since the Snickers bar has better nougat and peanuts. But the Milky Way Dark is a special beast. Dark chocolate, marshmallowey white nougat and thick caramel. It’s just awesome!
  • Sour Patch Kids – Who knew mixing sugar with citric acid would create such a great candy topping. Then you put it on gummy candies, where the red ones are the same flavor as Swedish fish, and you get a party in your mouth. If I go to the movies, I need to have a bag of these with me at all times.
  • Reeses Peanut Butter Cup – There’s something about the chocolate and peanut butter they use and the combination of the two. I can’t even adequately describe it. Every iteration of this candy (i.e. pumpkins, hearts, mini, fudge, etc) are all amazing as well.
  • Hersheys Symphony Bar (with Blue label) – It’s a special milk chocolate with toffee pieces and almonds. This is heaven.

On a final review, that last one might poke out a bit farther than the rest. It is seriously the greatest chocolate ever.

BONUS: WORST CANDY BAR EVER – Zero bar – It looks like crap, and tastes like what I would imagine crap to taste like. I don’t even know what’s in it nor do I care to look it up.

As a fat kid, my favorite is Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut bar. As far as milk chocolate – I think Cadbury kicks Hershey’s ass for flavor, texture, and overall taste and satisfaction. The fruit & nut has raisins and almonds in it . . . which go amazing well with their chocolate. There is also a Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel bar which is amazing, but incredibly hard to find.

If I’m going for chocolate, which I rarely do, Skor Bars are historically my favorite although lately the Dark Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and Dark Snickers are chosen. My favorites are either Sour Patch Kids, Gummy Worms, Skittles, Black Licorice, or Swedish Fish. Each has it’s own merits and each has it’s own favorite day.

As a fat guy that likes candy, here’s my top five.

Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups (love the big cups, that are the classic style)

Snickers (favorite version is the Easter Egg variant because, for some reason, it tastes better)

Kit Kat (like the classic milk chocolate one, love the newer white chocolate version)

    Whoppers

Crunch Bar/Krakel (the same fucking thing)

To this day the Ratt is the only place I have seen, or tried, a Zero bar. The worst thing is, it sounds like it should be good! I mean, who doesn’t like marzipan?

Coulson’s in Newton Plaza sells them. Although, now that Scubbers is no longer in Newton Plaza, I question why anyone would go to Newton Plaza, but I digress.

I’m willing to bet the owner of Coulson bought the remaining stock from the Siena Ratt and that’s what he’s still selling to this day. haha

Since you mentioned marzipan . . . I changed my mind. Chocolate covered marzipan is the best candy ever.

I like all of the candy you mentioned, except the Sour Patch Kids. They destroy my mouth.

I do love nearly all things gummy though. Gummy Savers have a special place in my stomach. Love them.

Also, I swear the mini Butterfingers are 10x better than the full sized.
