Save the date: Hotel Hell (Cambridge Hotel)

(7/5 – 9:55AM – Post updated with additional video link!)

Here’s an announcement that I’ve wanted to make for a while now. It’s been difficult because I didn’t have a specific date for the show.

Gordon Ramsay’s new show, Hotel Hell, where he and his team fix ailing hotel businesses, is premiering on Fox at 8PM on Monday August 13. However, the episode from the Cambridge Hotel, located about 40 miles northeast of Albany, NY, is tentatively scheduled to air the following Monday, August 20. [This was communicated to me through Fox and also through representatives of Chef Ramsay’s production company, One Potato Two Potato.]

I was involved with the taping, as I was there as a diner during the first night of taping (before Chef Ramsay’s intervention). I also visited after the remodeling and redesign of the menu (It was the perfect venue to propose to Cassie earlier this year), and, although the hotel has already closed, I saved the review of my second dining experience there in anticipation of the airing of the show.

Because this show has significant personal importance and since this is a major mainstream media event for our region, I thought it would be fun to gather for a public viewing of the show. I spoke with Chef Kevin Everleth at the Capital City Gastropub this past weekend, and he loves the idea of providing the venue for the event. He’s even working on some themed specials for the evening. (Perhaps we can get him to come up with a fun and creative spin on pie a la mode, since the Cambridge Hotel is allegedly where pie a la mode was conceived.)

I created a public event on facebook that you should feel free to join if you plan on coming.

Just to reiterate:

Hotel Hell – Cambridge Hotel

Monday, August 20 at 8PM (Tentatively)

Live event at Capital City Gastropub

This will be a great time! I’m hoping to line up some big surprises!

Hope you will join us!
