Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time

Most of my friends know that I am a student of comedy. Outside of my personal life, I’ve never really aspired to do much with the hours and hours I’ve spent studying the various media of comedy aside from entertaining my friends, which, in a sense, extends onto this blog. One thing that I would like is to have people take my comedic recommendations seriously. I’ve seen a lot in my life, and know when something special has dropped.

Case in point – Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time (Coming to Comedy Central on Tuesday October 12 at 10PM)

For those of you who have spent the last ten years living in captivity, Nick Swardson is a famous comedian whose talent covers the various comedy media outlets. Nick has performed as a stand-up comedian and produced comedy albums and DVDs based on his stand-up, written, produced and starred in films, and has written, produced, and performed in television series.

Nick is probably most well-known for his recurring role as Terry the gay roller skater on Reno 911, a long running Comedy Central Series. He is also well known for his hilarious role in Grandma’s Boy, aka the movie that none of you went to the theater to see, but all of you have seen on DVD (Nick also co-wrote and co-produced the film).

Recently in 2009, Nick recorded a stand-up special for Comedy Central called Nick Swardson: Seriously, Who Farted? I highly recommend getting your hands on this stand-up special. It really showcases Nick’s unique humor and is an example of stand-up perfection.

In just under a month, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time will debut on Comedy Central. Not much was known about this show until recently, and from the look of it, it’s going to be a sketch show based on Nick’s humor.

For now, I would recommend checking out the skits on the Comedy Central website; it looks like they’re releasing short clips every now and again, so keep a close eye on that and prepare to laugh. I can guarantee that you are not going to want to miss this. The Garry Gaga skit that they recently added seriously had me cracking up.

Tuesday, October 12 at 10PM on Comedy Central.

If it’s anything like the following video, we’re in for a treat.

Disclaimer: I’ve received no compensation from Comedy Central or Nick Swardson for the promotion of this TV program. I  believe this is going to be something special and think that anyone who reads and enjoys this blog would enjoy this show as well as anything Nick Swardson touches.
