Off track…

There’s a screen door in my house that is really annoying.

Screen door

When we moved in, it was on the track and was sliding back and forth with little resistance. Now, it’s barely on the track and really doesn’t move. I fiddled with it for about 20 minutes one day, but I just couldn’t figure out how to get it back on track.

The door is frustrating, for sure, but even more frustrating is that I’ve really been struggling with staying focused on my fitness routine.

Back at the beginning of April was Wrestlemania. With my brother coming in to town to celebrate, we really turn it into a big food-centric holiday. Up until then, I was doing a good job being consistent on what I was doing for exercise and what I was eating. Actually, pretty amazingly, I was able to maintain my weight by just keeping up with my DDP Yoga, including an indulgent trip to Puerto Rico.

After Wrestlemania, there have been a bunch of peaks and valleys with my persistence and energy toward fitness. I was doing good for a while, but the last couple of weeks have not been successful at all. I’d start a week with lots of momentum and motivation, then, for one reason or another, I’d just lose it and fall off track. My weight has crept up a few pounds (nothing major), and my motivation dropped off to nothing.

This isn’t about making excuses for why things are the way they are.

This is me picking up the pieces and getting back on track. I have made some adjustments to what I’m going to be eating, and have put on paper how I will go about the exercise, keeping things realistic and effective.

What I need to do now is find my motivation, be consistent, put in the work, and get the hell back on track.

In other words, I have to…

DO IT!

(And I gotta figure out how to fix that damn door!)

I have been dealing with the same thing.. I was working to get feeling better and eating better before we went to Disney.. I was on the ellipitcal at our office gym at least 4 days a week and I got myself a new fitness training workout thingy on strength training for women. Then I went to Disney and ate a ton of junk and BOOM I’m back to wanting to sit on my ass. I got back into a daily food diary and that helps. Good luck!

I hate doors like that…cheap ass teflon, usually with a chip on it, wheels connect to some cheap ass spring….man, I’m down to Lowe’s for a newer and better one…
